The bartender is a key position in the restaurant, working alongside the servers and other FOH team members to create unforgettable, positive experiences. They must have a vast knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits as well as an outgoing and energetic personality. Bartenders are responsible for counting the drawer before and after the shift, handling cash and closing out checks. Most importantly they work for the house, including the “proper pour” for drinks adhering to the house policy with integrity and minimizing waste. They are the first impression that a customer makes when entering the establishment.



Bartenders report to the Manager on duty. Bartenders are in charge of the entire bar area, and should be constantly making sure they do the following:

  • Arrive to work on time and ready to work
  • Bar is set properly, clean and ready for guests
  • Keep bar and stations stocked, cleaned and maintained before, during and after every shift
  • Server is highly knowledgeable of menu items, specials and bar offerings, including weekly rotating taps, specials, and promotions
  • Drink and food orders are taken and delivered accurately and efficiently
  • Orders are accurately documented and sent to kitchen with any modifications and/or allergies that are specified
  • Food and utensils are delivered to the table accurately and efficiently
  • Tables are cleared of and and all “evidence of consumption”
  • Keep tables and server stations stocked, cleaned and maintained during guest stay
  • Make all cocktails for restaurant including service well
  • Create new cocktails and keep book of recipes constantly updated and accurate
  • Assist in running drinks from service bar
  • Communicate clearly and periodically with managers, server assistants, hosts, and all FOH
  • Bartenders are highly knowledgeable of cocktails, wines, beers, menu items, and specials
  • Smart selling and creative upselling for all products including food, beer, wine and spirits
  • Train new employees with pride and accuracy
  • Exude total confidence in the Larkin’s brand, products, procedures and corporate policies


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Age: Bartender 21+
  • Delivery & Management-Must have valid driver license and clean driving record
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to use Heartland POS System
  • Ability to lift minimum 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a high-temperature kitchen for an extended time
  • Ability to take direction and delegate responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Available to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to reach, bend and stoop
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
  • Must have exceptional hygiene, grooming habits, and uniform standards
  • Basic computer knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServSafe Food Handler Course and Assessment certificate
  • Servsafe Certified: ServSafe Food Manager
  • Previous Experience: Prior restaurant experience in fast paced environment
