SERVER
Servers are the front line of creating guest experiences, suggestive upselling and enhancing customer relations.
A server is the person who has the most interaction with guests. Efficient, organized, flawless service is important.
Agile, creative thinking can make the best of an otherwise unpleasant or forgettable experience.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Servers report to the Manager on duty.
Servers are in charge of the tables in their respective sections, making sure to:
- Arrive to work on time and ready to work
- Tables are set properly, clean and ready for guests
- Server is highly knowledgeable of menu items, specials and bar offerings, including weekly rotating taps, specials, and promotions
- Drink and food orders are taken and delivered accurately and efficiently
- Orders are accurately documented and sent to kitchen with any modifications and/or allergies that are specified
- Food and utensils are delivered to the table accurately and efficiently
- Tables are cleared of and and all “evidence of consumption”
- Keep tables and server stations stocked, cleaned and maintained during guest stay
- Stations are stocked with more than enough service items before, during and after each shift
- Communicate clearly and periodically with managers, server assistants, hosts, and all FOH
- Smart selling and creative upselling for all products including food, beer, wine and spirits
- Train new employees with pride and accuracy
- Exude total confidence in the Larkin’s brand, products, procedures and corporate policies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Age: Server 18+ // Bartender 21+
- Delivery & Management-Must have valid driver license and clean driving record
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to use Heartland POS System
- Ability to lift minimum 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a high-temperature kitchen for an extended time
- Ability to take direction and delegate responsibilities
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Available to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to reach, bend and stoop
- Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
- Must have exceptional hygiene, grooming habits, and uniform standards
- Basic computer knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServSafe Food Handler Course and Assessment certificate, ServSafe Alcohol
- Prior restaurant experience in fast paced environment
